A Google Sheets template for prioritizing product initiatives using three frameworks: ICE, RICE, and DRICE. For a deeper dive into the methods, check out the article «ICE, RICE, DRICE Prioritization Methods».
What’s inside
ICE — the simplest prioritization method. Each initiative is scored on three factors from 0 to 10:
- Impact (effect on the metric)
- Confidence (confidence in the estimate)
- Ease (ease of implementation)
- ICE Score = I × C × E
RICE — a more precise method developed by Intercom. The table includes the following columns:
- Reach (number of users affected)
- Impact (effect on the metric, scale 0.25–3)
- Confidence (confidence in the estimate, 20%–100%)
- Effort (work required)
- RICE Score = (R × I × C) / E
The higher the score, the higher the priority of the initiative. The template includes sample entries to help illustrate how it works.
